Senior Medicare Patrol

The Virginia Association of Area Agencies on Aging (V4A) operates the Senior Medicare Patrol Project, supported by Grant # 90AM2583 from the Administration on Aging, Department of Health and Human Services, Washington D.C. 20201.

The purpose of this project is to create a Senior Medicare Patrol of volunteer  retirees who will be trained in the issues of Medicare and Medicaid fraud and who will be available to provide educational presentations regarding Medicare and Medicaid fraud in their communities.

The Virginia Association of Area Agencies on Aging SMP Program has developed a free Medicare Protection toolkit for older adults and caregivers in Virginia. The toolkits are a joint effort of the Virginia Association of Area Agencies on Aging Senior Medicare Patrol Program (SMP), Virginia Department for the Aging and Virginia Bureau of Insurance with support by Virginia TRIAD, SeniorNavigator and AARP Virginia.
